Falling for Fall... aka oh yeah, i forgot i started a blog.
Falling for Fall: New Arrivals, Big Changes & What’s Ahead at Squash Blossom
Fall is officially in the air—or at least on our racks! This is one of my favorite times of year because I finally get to welcome in the new season’s arrivals. We’re talking hats for days and more gorgeous outerwear than my personal closet (or our climate) probably needs. I’m crossing my fingers we get just enough of a winter this year to justify the number of coats and jackets I have my eye on… because trust me, they’re good.
This season also brings something new: we’re introducing a few fresh brands to our lineup. I can’t wait to see what you think of them! Your feedback matters—so if you try something new, let us know how it fits, feels, and functions in your life.
Of course, I can’t talk about the season without acknowledging the elephant in the room: prices. Tariffs and shifting costs are making retail more unpredictable than ever, and that’s affecting every category in different ways. Some prices have jumped unexpectedly, while others have stayed steady—it’s been a wild ride trying to keep the boutique stocked without overwhelming you (or my own nerves). Keeping Squash Blossom going strong means constantly adapting, but we’re in it for the long haul, together.
And speaking of together, our annual Fall Fashion Show is right around the corner—mark your calendars for Saturday, September 27th! Even with the Decatur Square construction project, we’re keeping the tradition alive and taking the runway outside where it belongs. I’m hoping for our biggest audience yet because it truly is one of the productions I’m most proud of. The energy, the looks, the community—it’s magic.
We’re also stacking the season with pop-ups and collaborations with other incredible local businesses. Think special guests, unique finds, and plenty of reasons to stop by in between big events. I love seeing the store buzz with new faces and old friends, and I know these partnerships will make your visits even more exciting.
So, here’s to fall—fresh arrivals, new adventures, and all the style (and maybe a little extra outerwear) we can handle. See you soon!
